´It's my great pleasure to take part in the international english olympia everything is wonderful. Everything that happened these days are wonderful. As for me, it is the first time that I go abroad. Speak truthfully. I was quite frightened when I left my home. But after I had arrived here all the volunteers, teachers and participants that I have met warm my heart and make me feel like home. I would like to tell you: thank you so much for your time and help that makes it possible. During these days I had a great time chatting with students from different countries, so it is a great chance to observe the cultural differences between countries and countries. And of course, it is a great chance for us to make international friends that we can keep in touch forever. All in all, it is such a pleasant journey that we can learn a lot from it and the memories that we had here will be cherished lifelong. I love you all! Missing you. Yu Qinyi, China
"But you, you saw me and you made me feel real." That line from The Thief Lord has always stayed with me — and now, it’s exactly what I want to say to everyone I met in Deva. During the competition, I made so many friends from around the world. They made me feel seen, understood, and truly alive. I had never imagined that I would come to Europe one day to take part in an international English contest — yet it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. From my teammates and friends, I learned so much about courage, friendship, and team spirit. We moved forward as one, and we never gave up. What made the journey even more memorable was the fascinating and picturesque city of Deva. Through this competition, I gained insights into different cultures, expanded my horizons, and created precious memories. It was a truly wonderful event, and I would like to say thank you to my teammates, teachers, friends, and all the staff who made IELO so special. Fu Wandi, China
“I can cope on my own.” This script truly reflects how I’ve grown during this competition. More than just a contest, it has been an unforgettable journey of self-discovery. Here, I learned to be independent and found the courage to connect with new friends from around the world. Being in Europe has expanded my horizons and allowed me to experience cultural differences firsthand. I’ve seen how people here embrace freedom and liberation in their daily lives, which feels so different from the sense of stability and tradition I’m used to in China. This environment encouraged me to express myself freely—to make my own choices without always waiting for my parents’ approval. That feeling is incredibly empowering. In the end, I just want to say what a pleasure it has been to share this wonderful experience with all of you, my dear friends. Thank you for making it so meaningful. Lai Yi, China
Participating in IELO in Deva was a fantastic experience for me. I was captivated by the stunning scenery and thrilled by the dynamic activities. Best of all was connecting with people from all over the world, which broadened my perspective immensely. It called to mind John Donne's perfect words: "Every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main." It was a really fantastic experience participating in IELO in Deva. I was totally captivated by the breathtaking scenery and dynamic activities here. Interacting with people from different countries has opened my eyes to the wider world, reminding me a sentence from John Donne, “Every man is a piece of the continent. A part of the main.” We are all connected. Shen Xiyue, China
The ILEO has been an experience of a lifetime for me. I consider it more than a competition, not only about winning awards, but also about friendship, communication and cross cultural exchange. We've been to Deva's world heritage and several museums to have a brief view of the culture here. There's also this impressive festive dinner, with everyone smiling and dancing. Each of the activity give us something new, and make us feel more united and connected with each other. This is what is truly meaningful.´ Qizhe Zhou, China
´The IELO has been an unforgettable experience. The city Deva left a lasting delightful impression on me. Every corner of this place is steeped in rich history, and the volunteers were particularly nice and dedicated. Seeing competitors from all over the world engage in friendly competition, generously expressing their admiration for one another, and passionately exchanging cultural insights, my feelings go beyond words. This event allowed diverse ideas to be spoken and expressed on an international stage, creating a unique and invaluable connection. At the festive dinner, everyone danced together and celebrated around the cake, which was a truly remarkable and heartwarming moment – one that underscored the genuine emotions and joy derived from our brief yet meaningful interactions. The abundance of activities left me almost overwhelmed, but one thing was certain: this experience will resonate continuously as a cherished memory.´ Jiayi Zhang, China
´Delightful memories have been planted in my inner sense during the Olympiad and cultural exchange events. I cherish the way we delve into English languages, utilizing them as shared knowledge to express our feelings beyond certain cultural context. This competition converts our passion for English towards substantial practices, validating the persistent value of English in this digital era, validating that the existence of language lovers can truly make a difference. In addition to the competition section, we have enjoyed the cultural tour in Deva, the city filled with peacefulness and profound history. Though I’m quite shy sometimes in socializing, I still feel the intimate and sincere connectivity between competitors, volunteers and teachers. I want to say thank you to the committee and all the people who make this event possible, and to my companions who create memorable time with me together these days. Humans are seemingly driven to be more and more separated in this day and age, but there are some teenagers, with compassion towards languages and cultures, who never agree to be divided. I believe that IELO presents us a possibility of connection, and that’s the essential reason for us to learn languages.´ Tianyun Zhang, China
´In Deva, Romania, the English Olympiad serves not only as a linguistic arena but also as a cultural bridge. Standing on the stone walls of Deva Fortress, gazing into the Carpathian Mountains, or wandering through the Gothic arcades of Corvin Castle, history seems to whisper through the bricks and stones – and it is the encounters with young people from various countries that truly bring these stories to life. At the festive dinner, people exchanged music and dances from their countries and ethnic groups. After the speeches, we would give each other thumbs-ups, marveling at each other's performances. Guided by English as our vessel, we carried the sparks of our unique cultures. Under the stars of Deva, young individuals were weaving a network of understanding that silently connected the future of the world.´ Xuechen Wang, China
´This year's IELO is such a great event, for it provides a precious opportunity for people from the globe to communicate, to improve and to grow. I feel so grateful and honoured to get involved in this Olympiad. I've got the chance to make friends with brilliant people from other countries, learning from each other and exchanging cultural views. I feel that this strong emotional bond has been built gradually through dialogue, dancing and hugging. It is so nice feeling that we're together, overcoming the cultural and linguistic barriers in unity. And I also loved the city of Deva, for its culture and atmosphere impressed me a lot. This Olympiad is thoroughly organised, offering us contestants all the best, which moved us deeply. It is, and will always be an unforgettable experience for a lifetime.´ Chenxu Hu, China
´As a contestant in the IELO this year, I feel so honored and grateful. I really appreciate the idea conveyed by this competition: beyond tests and challenges, we enjoy friendship and the sharing of creative minds. I’ve met so many amazing people who shared their unique experiences and cultures, which has made me truly understand the charm of languages - a bridge connecting lively souls. I’ll never forget this fantastic journey in Romania, with amicable teachers, sweet volunteers, brilliant new friends, joyful dance parties and wonderful visits to various cultural sites. I want to express my gratitude to all the organizers and committed teachers who have been safeguarding this olympiad every step of the way, my dearest teammates, and, of course, my lovely new friends. This is my best summer trip ever!!!´ Jingyi Tang, China
It was a tremendous honor to have visited the city of Deva in Romania as one of the Chinese contestants in the IELO competition, category C1. I am especially touched by the warmth and invaluable assistance offered by our wonderful coordinator, Adela, and the dedicated volunteers. It was both a privilege and a joy to have met you all. Engaging with competitors from diverse nations and cultural backgrounds has allowed me to gain a deeper appreciation for international communication in today’s world, as well as to form genuine friendships. In this place rich with cultural heritage, we broadened our cultural horizons and created lasting memories. Among these, the festive dinner stands out as one of the most cherished. At the center of the dance floor, we lost ourselves in the music and danced with pure joy. Words can hardly capture the depth of my gratitude. This experience will remain an unforgettable treasure throughout my life. Xinru Dong, China
´This unique experience of IELO has left a profound impact on me. Delving into the rich history of Deva, I found the delicate design of churches and castles here especially mesmerising. As a competitor of C1, I've encountered many difficulties during the harsh competition, yet the process proved a meaningful challenge for me to go beyond limits. Also, I was spellbound with the kind and friendly people from around the globe. No matter which country we are from, language can always, magically, bridge our hearts together.´ Ziyun Wang, China

Hats off to Deva, Romania, for the impeccable organization of the English Olympiad! We were deeply impressed by the city’s strong sense of community and the way everyone came together to make the event unforgettable: every detail reflecred their dedication . This Olympiad was not only a competition but a true celebration of unity, joy, and smiles. Watching so many cultures dancing side by side proved that there is a universal language: one even stronger than English. In line with one of the essay topics, this Olympiad brought students away from their screens and closer to the quintessential joy once likely felt by the Dacians themselves. It became clear that students need more experiences like this, moments of authentic connection and shared humanity. Congratulations to all the participants and the passionate teachers who guided them. It was a privilege for the Luxembourg team to be part of such an inspiring event.🤗🥰

Dear IEOL Organizers, Congratulations on the excellent organization of the event. Everything was carried out with professionalism and care. My sincere thanks also to the volunteers, whose presence and support were invaluable and greatly appreciated. With appreciation, For Greece Nikolaos Maras
