Romania had the honour of launching the first edition of the International English Language Olympics, an event that gathered teenagers passionate about the language and the culture of the English-speaking world. The competition, which took place between September 10 and September 17, 2023, in Bucharest, supported the improvement of students' linguistic proficiency, fostered their imagination and originality, and encouraged their personal response to the literary message.
Great news! The Fourth Edition of the International English Language Olympiad will take place in the wonderful northern Romanian city of Suceava from 6–12 September 2026. Pre-registrations are open until 15 April, while the final registration deadline is 1 June. The books for the Project Section of the Olympiad have been selected, and you can find them listed below. For those of you who would like to join us for the first time, the regulations for this year’s competition are also provided below.

The LOCATION will be Deva, Hunedoara County, a beautiful city in the center of Romania
The period: 24-31 August 2025
And an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
In 2025 each country will be allowed to register NO MORE than 16 students (4 teams). Schools from the same country will have to decide together upon a way of selecting their teams.
Registration for 2025 will be open soon, and will end on the 1st of May.
